With the October 2 release of *ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE* fast approaching, tech media outlets have published benchmark results.
Only the top two graphics cards exceed 100 FPS at FHD; upscaling is nearly essential at higher resolutions
The tech media outlet GameGPU published these benchmark results.
The tests were conducted with all graphics settings set to “Ultra” (the highest level) and upscaling configured to TSR’s native resolution (NATIVE).At 1080p resolution, the “GeForce RTX 5090” and “GeForce RTX 4090” recorded average frame rates exceeding 100 FPS, with results of 128 FPS and 115 FPS, respectively.At 1440p resolution, only the “GeForce RTX 5090” exceeded 100 FPS, averaging 102 FPS, while at 4K, it averaged 60 FPS.
Among the Radeon models, the “Radeon RX 7900 XTX” ranked sixth, averaging 92 FPS at 1080p, 64 FPS at 1440p, and 37 FPS at 4K.
Additionally, VRAM usage ranges from approximately 7GB to just under 9GB at 1080p and from about 10GB to 12GB at 4K, which is a bit of a stretch for GPUs with 8GB of VRAM. Memory usage is around 30GB at all resolutions, which is close to the official recommendation of 32GB.
Furthermore, based on test results for various CPUs, the study concludes that the CPU has a minimal impact on this game, and that GPU performance is the primary factor influencing performance.
Please note that the official system requirements—both minimum and recommended—are based on the assumption that upscaling will be used, and they require an SSD and support for hardware ray tracing.
Given that only the top two graphics settings can break 100 FPS even at 1080p resolution, this title undeniably features heavy-duty graphics.
