On September 25, The Fun Pimps released a beta version of the 3.3.0 update for the open-world zombie survival game *7 Days to Die*, exclusively for PC (Steam).
Inventory expanded to 8×6 for a total of 48 slots. Further expansions to come
The highlight of this update is the introduction of “Bigger Backpack,” a new system that allows players to expand their inventory capacity.
A new “8×6” inventory grid size has been added to the backpack. As a result, the inventory grid has changed from 9×5 to 8×6, increasing the total number of slots from 45 to 48.Of these, four rows are freely usable slots, while the remaining two rows are slots that will cause you to exceed your carry limit if you place items in them.

Equipping a backpack in the new backpack slot adds these slots that are treated as exceeding the carrying limit. Backpacks come in three sizes—small, medium, and large—each with six quality tiers. Depending on what you equip, your inventory can expand to a maximum of 8×12, for a total of 96 slots.
Backpacks can be obtained through crafting, looting, or purchase. Weight limits for the additional slots can be resolved using the “Pack Mule” perk or armor pocket modification parts.

Other major changes are as follows:
For the Prefab Editor, support for multiple pages for tool belts has been added. The number of slots, rows, and pages can now be defined using a new XML file.
Parts of the long-range weapon processing have been modified to maintain mod compatibility.
Optimized prefab cell data to use native memory.
Improved the bug reporting function for when players get stuck on the loading screen. Reduced instances of getting stuck and simplified the respawn process.
Fixed an issue where item backgrounds would flicker when moving items to storage.
Fixed an issue where both the “pick up” and “place” sound effects played when moving item stacks in the inventory.
Fixed an issue where the display of items that can be recovered at a workbench was not updating.
Fixed an issue where equpped items would be duplicated upon death when the "Drop on Death" setting was set to "Equipped Items."
Fixed a rare cross-thread deadlock.
Changed the footstep sound of Launcher Zombies from barefoot to wearing shoes.

Please note that this beta version contains the following two known issues, which the development team is currently working to resolve:
When retrieving a vehicle on a dedicated server, items stored inside the vehicle disappear. Players are advised to empty the vehicle’s contents before retrieval.
If you die while reloading, your weapon may malfunction. If this occurs, switch tool belt slots to open your inventory, start disassembling the weapon, and cancel immediately (do not complete the process). The issue will be resolved once you move the weapon to your inventory or another tool belt slot.
