*The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 2nd* inherits and further refines all the elements introduced in *The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st*. It features outstanding combat, a flawless story, and charming characters, while cutting out the drawn-out scenes found in its predecessor. It is a flawless production—a conclusion worthy of the Bracer duo’s story—while also masterfully building anticipation for what lies ahead. This remake proves that it is entirely possible to create a title that satisfies every demand of JRPG fans, establishing itself as one of the premier titles representing the genre today.

I genuinely loved both remakes of *The Sky’s Trails*; they left me feeling completely satisfied. As a newcomer who first experienced the *Trails* series through these remakes, the story, characters, and game systems all showed me exactly why people continue to love and support this long-running RPG series. If anything, the only thing left to be satisfied about is how much time and money I’ll have to spend catching up on the rest of the *Trails* series. For now, I’m completely hooked on Falcom, and I can’t wait for the next remakes. If you’re looking for me, you’ll probably find me exploring the rest of Zemuria while trying not to look at my bank account balance.

・Game Informer: 95/100 (PS5)
Building upon the already excellent remake of its predecessor, *The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 2nd* masterfully updates both its gameplay and its timeless story. As a result, this title has become a defining entry in the *Trails* series and one of the best RPGs of the year.
・Noisy Pixel: 95/100 (PS5)
*The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 2nd* is a masterful remake that elevates an already beloved RPG to new heights with more dynamic presentation, refined combat, meaningful quality-of-life improvements, and excellent character portrayals. While the early pacing drags a bit and some peripheral elements feel underdeveloped, the overall experience ranks among the best in Falcom’s *Trace* series, making this the definitive version of *The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC*.
・RPG Fan: 94/100 (PS5)
Can you enjoy this remake even if you’ve already played the original SC? The answer is undoubtedly yes. Re-experiencing the story has revealed several key plot points in unexpected ways. From a storytelling perspective, the remake’s 3D graphics and voice acting highlight crucial narrative developments and shed new light on them.
Is it worth playing even for new players who aren’t very familiar with the *Trails* series? If you’re familiar with the Famicom games or *The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st*, it’s definitely worth it. In that sense, this title offers the “best of both worlds” for fans old and new—it’s a prime example of a remake that preserves the elements that made the original special while also delivering something fresh.Precisely because I know how the entire *Trails* series will unfold from here on out, I’m deeply grateful to have been able to return to Liberl in *The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 2nd*.

・IGN: 90/100 (PS5)
*The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 2nd* captures all the elements that made the original so beloved, while delivering a masterful reimagining that further highlights its elegant storytelling and charismatic characters.

・Wccftech: 90/100 (PC)
*The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 2nd* is an excellent remake that masterfully modernizes Falcom’s classic JRPG without compromising its outstanding storytelling.By integrating the lighthearted hybrid battle system inherited from the *Trails of Cold Steel* series, a seamless open-world structure, and convenience features like High-Speed Mode, it has virtually eliminated the frustrations associated with the original’s design. Although the pacing is somewhat leisurely, it’s a must-play title for fans of the genre.
・Video Chums: 88/100 (PS5)
*The Sky’s Traces: The 2nd* is a very well-crafted RPG sequel, and anyone who enjoyed the remake of the previous game is sure to fall in love with this new remake sequel, which is full of unique charm and enjoyable moments.

・Worth Playing: 85/100 (PS5)
It is unquestionably a high-quality RPG, and just as the title promises, it is the “second half of the two-part series.”It doesn’t attempt to reinvent the existing formula, and the modest additions to the combat system don’t drastically alter the experience. Still, its greatest strength lies in the story, which finally rewards Estelle and Joshua’s journey and steadily builds toward a heart-pounding conclusion.
If you enjoyed *The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st*, I can recommend this title without hesitation. While it doesn’t dramatically change the gameplay, its more powerful narrative, deeply satisfying character growth, and magnificent climax make it a standout entry in the *Trails* series.
・Shacknews: 80/100 (Nintendo Switch 2)
Although I couldn’t quite get used to about half of the combat system, I generally love this “slightly silly” *Trails* series. The epic storytelling, driven by ambition and sincerity, is always captivating, and the game features a vast number of characters who are a joy to spend time with.*The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 2nd* is a true sequel to the remake of its predecessor, and that alone would have been enough. Furthermore, the Switch 2 version is highly polished from the start and makes full use of the lessons learned over the past year ( *The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st* has received multiple updates until very recently).Spending time with Estelle and the others is always wonderful, and even as someone who generally prefers new games or replaying the original over remakes, I felt this title was a thoroughly worthwhile adventure.
