Independent developer RAIDENWORKS has released the 3D arena robot action game *AIGEN ROBO* for PC (Steam).
Set in the world of the “AIGEN Project”—where the central artificial intelligence “AI CORE” creates countless combat robots to pit them against one another—this 3D arena shooter follows players as they battle for supremacy in the artificial combat arena known as the “Holosium.”Players take to the battlefield as one of countless test units, piloting a machine they’ve built themselves as they throw themselves into brutal combat.
Customization with 5 Slots and 308 Parts
Each mech consists of five slots: “Core,” “Leg,” “Gun,” “Bomb,” and “Pod.”The Core determines the base stats for durability, armor, and stability, while the Legs influence walking speed, dash performance, and jump height. Players then combine these with Guns for ranged fire, Bombs for deployable or throwable weapons, and Pods for support equipment.
Each slot offers 61 to 64 different types of parts, for a total of 308 parts. The design ensures that the unit’s configuration directly affects the handling—for example, changing the legs can significantly alter jump height, hang time, and combat range.Furthermore, there are three adjustable parameters—“Attitude Control,” “Firepower Adjustment,” and “Leg Output”—and you can specialize your unit’s performance using a zero-sum system where increasing one parameter reduces another. You can also customize the paint scheme for each slot.

In combat, managing the “Boost Tank”—shared between Air Dash and Assault Boost—is what separates victory from defeat. If you spend too much time dodging in the air, your tank will run dry, and since it won’t recharge until you land, you’ll become an easy target. It’s crucial to use cover strategically to position yourself and engage in close-quarters combat and shooting duels—for example, using a “Boost Kick” (performed by jumping during an Assault Boost) to knock an opponent off balance, fill their Stance Gauge, and force them into a “Break” state.

56 Missions and a Variety of Game Modes
For solo play, the game features a “Campaign” with 36 missions set across 10 different arenas, including a sealed cell filled with a molten pool and a high-rise plaza. Seven of these arenas feature destructible cover, and when this cover is destroyed, the line of fire changes dramatically. Stages equipped with lifts that move up and down also make an appearance.

After completing the Campaign, 16 “Deep Dive” missions—each featuring a boss—and 4 “Next-Level” missions—where you can obtain unique hidden parts—are unlocked, bringing the total to 56 missions. There are 20 bosses in total, each with diverse attack patterns, such as walking or charging types. The game also features challenging modes such as “Boss Rush,” where you battle all 20 bosses consecutively to compete for the best time; “High-Difficulty Remix,” where enemies are strengthened; and “Endurance Test,” where you must withstand wave after wave of attacks. You can compete for the best clear times on the Steam leaderboards.
Defeated enemy craft drop parts ranging in rarity from Common to Mythic across six tiers, and you can buy, sell, and upgrade parts in the in-game shop. A “Practice Room” is also available, where you can test behavior and practice controls using a checklist format.

Multiplayer for up to 4 Players & Japanese Language Support
In offline mode, you can choose your favorite arena to enjoy Battle Royale matches against three CPU opponents or 2v2 team battles. The game also supports online play via Steam. Online, in addition to competitive Battle Royale arenas for up to four players, you can play cooperative missions where up to four players team up to take on one of 20 bosses. You can join rooms by setting the visibility, inviting friends, or entering a room code, and an in-game voice chat feature is also available.
The game fully supports Japanese text display, allowing you to play with Japanese subtitles for the English voiceovers of the control operators.
"AIGEN ROBO" is currently available for PC (Steam). The price is 1,215 yen.
