The first title from Visual Arts' new brand! "Sayagatari: The Promise of the Demon Sword," a visual novel where you battle yokai and get kissed by beautiful girls over and over, is now on sale—the digital download version is available at a special price of 990 yen.
The opening movie was produced by Mju:Z, a video production studio known for the opening movie of *Sakura no Toki*, with design by Kioya.
On September 25, Visual Arts released the visual novel *Sayagatari: The Promise of the Demon Sword* for PC as the first title under its new brand, “VISUAL ARTS Scripts.” The digital version, available on DLsite and DMM GAMES, is being offered at a special launch price of 990 yen.
A former kendo prodigy meets a girl who seals away a demon sword. A kiss holds the key to the story.
This title is the first release from the new brand “VISUAL ARTS Scripts,” announced in April 2026. It is a visual novel that depicts a romantic experience in which the player, as a master of a demon sword, battles yokai while being kissed repeatedly by a beautiful girl.
The tagline is “An unforgettable kiss—.”Toya Kanemori, a former kendo enthusiast, accidentally breaks the seal on a forbidden shrine and encounters Saya Aozora, a girl carrying a Japanese sword. Toya, a sword enthusiast, instinctively touches the blade—only to discover it is a cursed demon sword that awakens murderous impulses in its owner.
What saved him was a kiss from Saya. Saya’s kiss possesses a special power to break the cursed sword’s spell, and as the two deepen their bond while living under the same roof, they take up the cursed sword to battle yokai.

Saya Aozakura (CV: Tomori Kusunoki)
The heroine of this story.
A shrine maiden from the Heian period who had sealed away the cursed sword.
She is extremely curious about everything and so eager to learn that she reads books all night long to understand the modern world.
Since she acts based on Heian-era norms, she often misinterprets Tōya’s words in the most absurd ways.
She loves sweets and shouts “Ito-okashi!” when she gets excited.
Rinko Kanemori (CV: Marika)
A beautiful older sister with a model-like figure who serves as the captain of the archery club and boasts the top score on her grade’s mock exams.
She is Tōya’s older sister and looks after her younger brother in place of their parents, who are busy with work.
She loves money and hates waste. When it comes to her younger brother, she becomes completely doting.
The scenario for this title was written by up-and-coming creator Mii Yamaya, who also serves as director. The illustrations are by “Riichu,” known for works such as “The Restless Days of a Reclusive Vampire Princess.”
