"Tales of Eternia Remaster" Sparks Heated Debate Over "Boost Feature" and "High-Speed Mode"—Check Out the Numerous Changes and New Features on the Official Website

Regarding *Tales of Eternia Remastered*, scheduled for release on October 15 by Bandai Namco Entertainment, changes from the original version and new features have become the subject of discussion on social media. The official website has published a page listing these changes and new features.

Will there be a “Boost Feature” or “High-Speed Mode”?

This title is a remastered version of *Tales of Eternia*, the “RPG of Eternity and Bonds,” returning with improved playability. It was announced in June during “Nintendo Direct 2026.6.9” and is scheduled for release on October 15 (October 16 for the Steam version).

Pre-release hands-on coverage from various media outlets has now been released. Game*Spark also published a play report on September 23 that touches on the “Destination Icon” and “Boost Feature.”

However, once this information was revealed, a heated debate erupted on X even before the game’s release. The controversy centers on features added to this remastered version that weren’t present in the original, with the “Boost Feature” and “High-Speed Mode” drawing the most attention.

Concerns stem from the idea that features like the “Boost Function”—which increases experience points and other rewards earned in battle—and “High-Speed Mode,” which speeds up auto-battle, might strip the game of the unique enjoyment found in RPGs. However, there are also many counterarguments, such as the view that these features are necessary for a remaster and that since it’s up to the player whether to use them or not, there’s no issue.

Changes and added features can be confirmed on the official website

Setting aside the debate over whether it’s appropriate to include time-saving features in an RPG, the changes and additions made to this title compared to the original version were published on the official website as of June.

A look at the page reveals specific details—including settings adjustable via the “Boost Feature” and the “Destination Icon” displayed on the screen—presented with accompanying images.
