Kagura Games and MangaGamer have announced that the PC (Steam) version of the classic simulation RPG *Sengoku Lance*, developed by Alice Soft, will be released on October 1, 2026.
Regarding the release date, while Kagura Games’ official X (formerly Twitter) account announced a release on October 2, 2026, the Steam store page lists the date as October 1, 2026. This discrepancy is likely due to time zone differences.
A Classic Strategy Game Aiming to Unify Japan
“Sengoku Lance” is a territory-conquest simulation RPG and the seventh installment in the “Lance” series, originally released by AliceSoft in 2006.Set in a world with unique RPG-style rules, the story follows the protagonist Lance—a rowdy warrior who has caused turmoil across the continent—and his companion, the female slave Shil. They visit the eastern island nation of “JAPAN” intending to enjoy a hot spring getaway, but due to a series of unexpected events, they find themselves caught up in the power struggle within the OwariOda clan’s power struggle and end up striving to unify the nation.
Set in “JAPAN,” a world inspired by Japan’s Sengoku period, this game’s system is a strategic simulation where players aim to unify the entire nation by managing domestic affairs and resources within their territories, strengthening their military forces, and invading adjacent enemy territories.Battles are turn-based tactical encounters, and victory or defeat hinges on strategic command that takes into account each general’s unique troop types, skills, and turn order. Additionally, the game features deeply integrated RPG elements, such as recruiting and training a diverse cast of generals under your command, individual scenarios for each general, and dungeon exploration.
Content Restrictions and Patch Rollout for the Steam Version
The Steam version of *Sengoku Lance* is scheduled to support a Japanese interface and subtitles. Although there have been previous attempts to bring the series to Steam—which appear to have failed due to the review process—this marks the long-awaited debut of this beloved classic “bishoujo” game on the Steam platform.
Note that the game’s Steam store page is not currently rated “Adult Only.” Therefore, it is highly likely that the main game distributed directly on Steam has been adjusted for all ages, meaning it will not include adult content or event CGs featuring even mild nudity.In that case, as with the publisher’s previous localized titles, a patch to restore the adult content is expected to be provided separately via the publisher’s official website or other channels. In other words, as long as the patch isn’t applied, the game can be distributed without any issues.
Furthermore, regarding the *Lance* series, it has been announced that not only this title but also other numbered entries—such as *Lance 01+02*, *Lance 03*, and *Lance IX*—will be released on Steam sequentially.
