Today, September 24, KONAMI released the psychological horror game *SILENT HILL: Townfall*, developed by Screen Burn Interactive, for PS5 and PC.

This title is the latest entry in the *SILENT HILL* psychological horror series, which has sold over 17.8 million copies worldwide (including players on subscription services). It is the first full-fledged title in the series to adopt a “fully first-person perspective” throughout.
The story is set on the isolated island of “St. Amelia,” floating in the cold waters off the coast of Scotland.The protagonist, Simon, visits this island shrouded in deep fog and silence. As he explores the town, he’ll tackle mysteries and puzzles closely tied to the story, while engaging in stealth and combat to evade life-threatening dangers.

On the international review aggregatorMetacritic, the PS5 version has earned a Metascore of “81” based on 68 critic reviews (the PC version also scored 81 based on 30 reviews). The game appears to be highly praised for its tension-filled stealth gameplay and unique depiction of the setting.
Game*Spark has released an exclusive review that delves into the game’s gameplay and world-building. The review describes it as “a new ‘SILENT HILL’ that inherits the DNA of ‘Alien: Isolation’ while transforming the puzzle-solving itself into a story,” and awarded it a score of 9.
