"Olympus 2249," a single-player RPG in the style of the early "Fallout" games, has been announced. Live freely in a dieselpunk world set in post-nuclear America.

Russian development studio Dieselship Studio has unveiled the Steam store page for its post-apocalyptic RPG, *Olympus 2249*.

A single-player RPG set in post-nuclear America

This top-down, single-player RPG lets players adventure through a dieselpunk world set in a post-nuclear, desolate United States. The development team previously released “Olympus 2207,” a large-scale mod based on “Fallout 2,” and this new title is set in the same world 42 years later. However, there appears to be no direct narrative connection between the two, making this a standalone experience.

Players can choose from five different karma types—ranging from the moralist to the villain—and the content of quests changes depending on the chosen karma type. Furthermore, the karma type may change based on the choices players make as the story progresses.

Combat is turn-based, with attacks consuming stamina. The game features mechanics such as hit rates that vary based on positioning and a system that allows players to target specific body parts.

The Early Access version, scheduled to last up to approximately two years, is said to include about a quarter of the story, and plans are in place to significantly increase the number of locations, factions, quests, characters, and items in the full version.

"Olympus 2249" is currently in development for PC (Steam). As of this writing, Japanese is not listed among the supported languages on the store page.
