Novemtails has announced that the early access launch date for the laid-back nature survival sim *Under Canopies* will be October 23.
After four years of development, the Early Access version is finally launching
This survival sim takes place in a serene forest filled with secrets and breathtaking scenery. With no combat or danger, it is a “soothing survival sim” where players build a life while living in harmony with nature. Although the developers had previously stated in June that they “planned to launch Early Access around summer,” it seems the game is finally ready to play.
Along with the release date announcement, the developers stated, “We’ve been focusing on improving game progression and tutorials, expanding the building system, adding farming elements, and refining animal behavior. New resources have been discovered, crafting and cooking items have increased, and there are now more reasons to explore various parts of the forest,” confirming that the game has undergone significant enhancements over the past few months.
They also mentioned designing a step-by-step process for building trust with the animals. It seems you can gradually grow closer to them by feeding and caring for them.
Furthermore, the developers stated that they have worked on quality-of-life (QoL) improvements, including inventory enhancements, controller support, improved building mechanics, clearer quest guidance, additional settings options, and numerous bug fixes.
They also noted that the previous demo version has been removed. The reason given is that the current version has undergone significant changes, and the demo no longer reflected those updates.
"Under Canopies" is scheduled for release on October 23 as an Early Access title for PC (Steam).
