Five additional titles for the "NEOGEO AES+," a new game console developed by SNK and PLAION REPLAI, have been announced.
The Unexpected “Never-Before-Released NEOGEO Version” of *Zero Wing*
The titles revealed this time are *Magical Drop 2 & 3*, *Zero Wing*, *Fighters History Dynamite*, *Miracle Adventure*, and *Dunk Dream*.
Of particular note is the side-scrolling shooter *Zero Wing*, released by Toa Plan for arcades in 1989.
While this title was ported to platforms such as the Mega Drive and PC Engine, it was never released for the original NEOGEO. This NEOGEO AES+ version is reportedly a newly ported version for the NEOGEO, officially licensed from TATSUJIN, which holds the rights to Toa Plan’s works.
Additional Data East titles have also been announced, including the falling-block puzzle games*Magical Drop 2 & 3*—which combines *Magical Drop 2* and *Magical Drop 3* into a single title—the fighting game *Fighters History Dynamite*, the action game *Miracle Adventure*, and the basketball game *Dunk Dream* will all be playable.
With even a NEOGEO version of *Zero Wing*—a title that never existed before—being newly created, the NEOGEO AES+ is evolving into more than just a retro console. It will be interesting to see what other titles are added in the future.
