"We Haven't Let Go of Destiny Yet": Bungie Reveals Future Plans. Work Begins to Bring Back the 'Destiny 2' Campaign, Locations, and Raids to the Game

Bungie has published an article on its official website announcing its future direction and other details.

“We haven’t let go of Destiny yet.”

The article discusses the “Destiny” series developed by the company. “Destiny is the foundation of Bungie’s future. There are still many stories to tell and many new worlds to create. However, to do so, we must proceed in the right way and give the development team the time they need to fully bring this wonderful universe to life. In other words, we haven’t let go of *Destiny* yet,” the article states, making it clear that the company has no intention of ending the *Destiny* series just yet.

For now, “we’ve begun the process of bringing back the campaign, locations, and raids that were stored in the Destiny 2 vault. These will be available for all Destiny 2 players to experience,” the announcement added, confirming that work is underway to restore the currently inaccessible content in *Destiny 2*.

Additionally, the statement noted, “Restoring this content isn’t as simple as restoring old files. Due to changes made to *Destiny 2* since *Beyond Light*, we need to update the lighting, encounter events, combat characters, and other underlying systems.“While this work will take time, the restored content is essential to meeting Destiny 2’s current standards for stability and gameplay,” the post noted, adding that the restoration process will take some time and that progress updates will be provided over the coming months.

Regarding *Marathon*, the post explains, “While it received high praise from critics upon release, we recognize that it didn’t reach as many players as we’d hoped, and we understand the need to evolve the game.” “We’ll further enhance combat, the game world, and the competitive tension, while giving players more freedom to choose how they engage with the game.In other words, whether it’s cooperative PvE, competitive PvP, or the unpredictable, tension-filled PvPvE of ‘Marathon,’ we aim to provide a meaningful experience regardless of a player’s preferences,” the statement explains, indicating that updates will focus on expanding content options.

Additionally, Bungie as a whole has outlined four “Key Commitments”: “To respect and restore the legacy of ‘Destiny’ while building a stronger, long-term future,” “To evolve ‘Marathon,’ grow the community, and build a sustainable future,”“Increase transparency regarding development priorities,” and “Strive for more consistent communication, especially when plans change.” They plan to announce a consistent reporting method for these goals alongside the next major updates for both *Destiny* and *Marathon*.
