Announced in 2020, the game has faced its share of twists and turns, including periods of silence and release delays, but during the “Xbox Games Showcase 2026” streamed in June 2026, it was announced that the game is scheduled for release on February 24, 2027.

The interview also revealed the challenges of building a large team, how impressed he was by the voice actors’ performances, and how—even knowing that only 25% of players are expected to complete the game—the team pursued quality without compromise all the way to the final chapter.
He also touched on the game’s development period—noting that, as mentioned above, it was announced in 2020 and development began even earlier—and explained that the extended development time was permitted because people within Xbox viewed the game as “essential to the platform’s DNA.”He further added, “It’s an important game for the video game industry as a whole.
