"Witch the Showdown," an action game featuring cute girls, high-speed parries, and deck-building, is coming to Steam Early Access on November 19! We believe in its appeal and are boldly releasing it on the same day as "GTA 6."

Perp Games and Japanese development studio Citales Games have announced that *Witch the Showdown* will launch in Early Access on Steam on November 19, 2026.

Boss Battles Where You Build Mana Through Parries and Attack with Cards

This single-player action game features a fusion of parry mechanics and deck-building, where players control a beautiful female character.

In combat, you must time your parries perfectly to gain the resource “mana,” which you then spend to launch counterattacks with cards from your hand. Every opponent is a boss-level foe, and even the slightest misjudgment can be fatal. The difficulty is divided into five levels, ranging from “Rookie” to “Master.” The highest difficulty, “Master,” is designed to be extremely challenging—so much so that even hardcore action gamers and competitive players can take pride in clearing it.

In addition to high-speed real-time combat, you can also choose a turn-based format that lets you carefully consider each move. This design allows even players who aren’t skilled at action gameplay to fully enjoy the back-and-forth of card battles.

Game modes include “Duel Mode,” where you can practice tactics and parries using pre-built decks, and “Tournament Mode,” a roguelike-style mode where you defeat rivals in consecutive battles. In Tournament Mode, you can use credits earned as victory rewards to acquire new cards and always-active items, strengthening your deck to suit your playstyle.

The game also features captivating anime-style visuals. Set in a near-future fantasy world where magic, swords, guns, and machinery collide, the story features the protagonist “Ruze” alongside “Neon,” a genius riflewoman. Winning the tournament unlocks an exclusive in-game manga that delves into their backstories.

Game*Spark is currently featuring a hands-on report and an interview with creator Nan Kiryu from Tokyo Game Dungeon 10, held in November 2025. The article provides a detailed look at the gameplay, including how to switch between Front Guard and Just Dodge, as well as the “Elemental Burst” charged using attribute cards, so be sure to check it out.

It’s worth noting that the game’s release date coincides with the launch of the highly anticipated *Grand Theft Auto VI* (GTA 6). Regarding this release date, the developer commented as follows on Steam News:

……Some of you may find this date somewhat familiar. With the world’s attention focused on Vice City, releasing the game at this time is literally a life-or-death challenge for an indie team like ours. However, believing in the thrilling battles of the witches and the fun of deck-building, we’ve decided to go ahead and deliver the game to you on this day.

Additionally, the Early Access version will build upon the demo, featuring new powerful enemy characters as well as numerous new cards that significantly expand strategic depth.

"Witch the Showdown" is scheduled for Early Access release on PC (Steam) starting November 19, 2026. It is also scheduled for release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2027.
