On September 16, 2026, WorldMap announced the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of *The End of History*, a sandbox strategy RPG developed by independent game developer Tatami-beya.
A sandbox RPG where you witness history as a member of the world—the console version is finally here
Set in a fictional world inspired by medieval Europe, *The End of History* is a sandbox strategy RPG in which players witness history unfold as “the last long-lived species.”Players are free to aim for a position of power by entering government service, devote their lives to wooing a romantic interest, or simply remain a passive observer of history.
The game features a “World Collapse Meter” that rises as hatred among people grows and the world becomes increasingly divided; once it exceeds a certain threshold, “The End of History” arrives. Whether to resist the end of history or simply watch the world collapse as it is—that choice is left entirely up to the player.
Whether you choose to become an officer and lead an army or simply work as a common soldier dedicated to your missions, the choice is yours. A port of this title to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S has now been announced. The release is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, coinciding with the end of Early Access and the launch of the full version on Steam.
Additionally, the current Steam Early Access version will be available to play at the WorldMap booth (Indie Game Corner, 09-E74) during the Tokyo Game Show 2026, which runs from September 17 to 21.Attendees will receive a special pamphlet featuring “Your Observation Logs,” which were collected from users on the official Discord server.
