This title is an action RPG originally released for the Super Famicom in 1995. Published by Enix (now Square Enix) and developed by Quintet, it garnered attention for its character designs by manga artist Kamui Fujiwara.
Along with *Soul Blader* and *Gaia Fantasy*, it is known as the “Quintet Trilogy” and enjoys a loyal following, but until now, it had never been ported orremade. However, on August 25, 2026, the revival of *Terranigma* was announced at “Pixel Arcadia,” a digital showcase specializing in retro games. It has now been revealed that the game will be released on January 14, 2027.
It appears to feature Original Mode and Arranged Mode, aspect ratio selection, quality-of-life improvements, and difficulty adjustments. It is also said to include a music player for enjoying the game’s soundtrack at any time, as well as a museum where players can view box art, manuals, and concept art.
Making a comeback in both digital and physical editions
The remastered version of *Creation* is scheduled for release on January 14, 2027, for PC (Steam, GOG), PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
