Capcom has announced that the Version 2 update, scheduled for release alongside *Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance*, will include several refinements designed to enhance the gameplay experience. These improvements will be available to all players, not just those who have purchased the *Ascendance* expansion.
Free and Unlimited Character Customization
“Appearance Tickets,” which were previously paid items, will no longer be required, allowing players to re-edit their character’s settings for free as many times as they like after initially creating their character.
Improved Combat Convenience
You’ll be able to quickly switch between your main and sub weapons without mounting a Secret, and you’ll also be able to change your equipment from the item box outside your tent.
With the newly implemented “Hunter My Set” feature, you’ll be able to register Item My Sets, Equipment My Sets, and Equipment Appearance My Sets as a single set and recall them all at once. This should make switching between weapon types much more convenient.
Adjustments That Will Please Series Veterans
In the Monster Encyclopedia, you’ll be able to check monster physical properties as numerical values. Additionally, you’ll be able to switch the HUD display—including the clock’s position, the visual effects for health and stamina gauges, and how items are displayed in the item box—to a look similar to that of previous games in the series. You can change the HUD display in the HUD settings menu.
Capcom has stated that it plans to implement various other refinements in addition to these.

The "Monster Hunter Wilds" Ver. 2 update is scheduled for release in conjunction with the launch of "Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance." "Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance" is scheduled for release in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
