Hooded Horse has released the full version and console editions of the turn-based simulation game *ENDLESS Legend 2*, developed by AMPLITUDE Studios.
New factions join the fray, and battles grow fiercer
*ENDLESS Legend 2* is a turn-based 4X strategy game that entered Early Access on PC in September 2025. After approximately one year in Early Access, the official release has now been launched.
Set on an ocean planet on the brink of destruction, players choose one of several factions and aim to prevent its downfall. Additionally, through a map-changing system called “Tidefall,” the sea level across the entire map recedes, creating new landmasses—players must adapt to this constantly shifting landscape while building a thriving empire.
Game*Spark has already published a full review of this title. The review cited only “a mismatch between the game’s progression and the narrative climax” as a drawback, hailing it as “a masterpiece of fantasy strategy that achieves the seemingly impossible: making a 4X game designed for hardcore gamers accessible to beginners.”
The review notes that those new to 4X games can enjoy it as an epic simulation RPG, while veterans of the genre will be reminded of the original “One More Turn” feeling. Please check out the review for more details on the game’s content and appeal.
To coincide with the official 1.0 release, several new factions are being introduced. The “Sandshapers,” the sixth playable faction, are joining the fray.
New Playable Faction: Sand Shapers
The enigmatic “Sand Shapers” make their debut as the game’s sixth major faction. As the oldest civilization inhabiting Cyada, they remember the era before the world was submerged in water and have made it their sacred mission to terraform the planet back into the desert it once was.
Like the other major factions in *ENDLESS Legend 2*, the Sand Shapers feature new faction quests that tell their own story, along with new units, heroes, technologies, and traits. These will also be available in the custom faction creation tool.
Furthermore, “Rogue Factions”—which offer new interpretations of existing factions—have been introduced, along with the minor faction “Mangroves of Harmony.”
Rogue Factions: “The Knights of Zerevas” and “The Severed Claw”
While these splinter groups share much with their parent factions, each features its own unique faction quests, story, and gameplay. The first two planned Rogue Factions are “The Order of Zelevas,” a conquest-focused offshoot of “The People of Sheredin,”and “The Severed Claw,” a splinter faction of the “Necrophages” that can only make up for its losses by enslaving other factions.
New Minor Faction: The Mangrove of Harmony
“The Mangrove of Harmony” is a new, starfish-like minor faction developed in collaboration with the Amplitude community. It features its own hero and quest line, and adds a new village, recruitable units, a new population type, and two hero skills.
"ENDLESS Legend 2" is now available for PC (Steam/ Epic Games Store /Microsoft Store) /PS5/XBOX Series X|S. The PC version is currently on sale on Steam and the Epic Games Store for 2,490 yen, a 50% discount.The sale runs through October 2 on Steam and through September 30 on the Epic Games Store.
