On September 17, Phoenixx announced *THE FIRST ZOMBIE*, a game for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch produced by Kentaro Fujii of *Wednesday’s Downtown*. The Steam store page has also been launched.

*THE FIRST ZOMBIE* is a so-called “reverse zombie game” featuring a zombie protagonist, produced by Kentaro Fujii, known for his work as a director on “Wednesday’s Downtown.”
The protagonist is an ordinary young man living an unremarkable life. One day, he wakes up to find that his entire body has turned into a zombie. Instead of lamenting his fate, he embraces his tireless new body and resolves to save the world by turning everyone else into zombies. This game is described as a “reverse zombie game”—one where you increase the number of zombies rather than defeating them.
Apparently, when humans are turned into zombies, they become reliable allies. The player continues to expand their zombie army—including not just people but even animals—as they advance to the next city. The setting features well-known Tokyo neighborhoods such as Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Ueno. The goal of the game is to conquer each of these neighborhoods and transform them into zombie-infested cities. The genre is listed as “undecided,” and further updates are eagerly awaited.
The game is set to make its debut at the “Phoenixx/AMBER GAMES/GYAAR Studio” booth (Hall 9, C64) at the Tokyo Game Show 2026, which will be held at Makuhari Messe from September 17 to 21 (no playable demo available).On the day of the event, the latest teaser trailer will be unveiled, and a venue-exclusive campaign will be held, with original promotional items given to participants.
Additionally, a campaign is planned where participants who follow the official X account and repost the designated post will be entered into a drawing to win a limited-edition original T-shirt.
