Publisher Daedalic Entertainment has released the casual puzzle game *Woodo*, developed by Tiny Monks Tales.
A diorama puzzle game where you assemble wooden pieces to bring a story to life
*Woodo* is a diorama puzzle game where you assemble wooden landscapes piece by piece.

In this game, as you place objects in their correct spots, the scenery gradually comes to life with color, animations, and little surprises. Through interconnected dioramas, players follow the adventure story of Foxy the fox and Ben the frog.
The developers say they prioritized a tactile experience where the pieces snap together like real toys. Players must not only assemble the pieces in order but also rotate the 3D space to find hidden pieces. With effects where the diorama comes to life in response to placement and a gentle narrator’s voice, this game evokes a sense of nostalgia reminiscent of childhood.

The game was just released on September 17 (Japan Time). Although it currently has only 83 user reviews on Steam, 100% of them recommend the game, earning it an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating. It seems to be praised for its soothing, comforting atmosphere, art style, and storytelling.

“It was just an idea floating around in my head for a long time.”
To coincide with the release, a message from developer Julia has been published on Steam News.
According to Julia, *Woodo* was nothing more than an idea in her head for a long time. She explains that she wanted to capture the feeling of reawakening a nearly forgotten memory—much like finding an old toy in a box that hadn’t been opened in years.

Furthermore, this game wasn’t created by a large team; in the early stages, development was carried out by just two people: Julia and Timur. She noted that it took an enormous amount of time to refine each diorama to perfection, and that she received help from many people along the way. She also expressed her gratitude for the comments and messages she received from fans during development, which served as a great source of support.
The message concludes with the words, “Well, it’s time to open the box.”
*Woodo* is now available for PC (Steam),PS5,XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.It supports Japanese, including voice acting, and the Switch 2 version also supports mouse control using Joy-Con 2. The premium “Endless Summer Edition” includes the main game, exclusive in-game items, and a soundtrack featuring all 39 tracks.
