On September 17, 2026, Square Enix released the final trailer for *Final Fantasy Resonance*, which the company plans to release on October 22 (October 23 for the Steam version).
A New *Final Fantasy* Told Through HD-2D

This title is a reimagining of *Final Fantasy Brave Exvius*, originally released for smartphones, as a standalone RPG. One of the game’s core concepts is “What if *FF* had continued to evolve while remaining a pixel-art RPG?” Consequently, the game adopts an “HD-2D” style that blends pixel art with 3D graphics.Furthermore, the game actively incorporates familiar elements from past *FF* titles, such as the command battle system, the job system, and Chocobos, summons, and airships.

By obtaining “Vision Crystals”—which contain the emotions of characters from past games in the series—the characters in this game can draw power from them, and that power is rendered in 3D graphics. The game’s visuals seamlessly blend not only 2D art but also advanced 3D graphics.

The game’s final trailer was released today, September 17. With its stunning blend of 3D and 2D visuals, this trailer offers a glimpse into the epic story to come.

Additionally, details regarding the game’s exhibition at Tokyo Game Show 2026 have been announced. During the hands-on demo, players will be able to experience not only the opening stages but also the mid-game “Dungeon Exploration”—which is not included in the current demo—and the “Arena,” where they can take on powerful enemies.Furthermore, those who participate in the demo will receive a “retro-style box” and a “Final Fantasy Trading Card Game PR Card: Fina” as limited-edition giveaways.

Furthermore, the collaboration-label wine “Château Mercian Rouge for FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE,” set to be released simultaneously with the game on October 22, will be available for a limited time at Mercian’s official online store, “Château Mercian Online.”This special edition features an original label that captures the world of “FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE” paired with an exclusive gift box, priced at 13,000 yen (tax included).
