Phoenixx has released the PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch versions of "MONOWAVE," a 2D puzzle-action game developed by South Korea's Studio BBB.

Don’t fight—connect. Switch between emotions to forge a path.

This 2D puzzle-action game centers on the theme of emotions. When “Emotion Shards” vanished from the “Prism Tree”—which had guided the four emotions since ancient times—the emotions scattered across the world, plunging it into chaos.

Players control “Mono,” a newly born guardian spirit, and embark on a journey to restore harmony to this fragmented world. A key feature of this game is its heartwarming design: rather than attacking and eliminating enemies, you connect with their emotions and heal them. By changing “Mono’s” emotions to match the environment within each stage, you can perform different actions.

The four emotions and their effects are as follows:

  • Happiness: Allows for light, high jumps

  • Sadness: Shrinks “Mono” to pass through narrow paths

  • Anger: Allows for aggressive movement, such as wall-jumping

  • Anxiety: Allows you to avoid dangerous traps by moving cautiously

Additionally, the “songs” played by “Monos” have the power to spread your emotions to your companions. Companions who share your emotions through song will support your adventure by utilizing their unique abilities—such as breathing fire to melt ice blocking your path or tossing “Monos” high into the air.

The visuals feature a unique art style that blends delicate lines reminiscent of single-stroke drawings with vivid neon colors. Explore the fantastical worlds symbolizing the four emotions, accompanied by soothing sounds.

A playable demo of this title will be available at the Tokyo Game Show 2026, held at Makuhari Messe from September 17 to September 21.
