PC Windows
"PLATiNA :: LAB," a rhythm game featuring cute, chubby girls created by former "DJMAX" staff, has officially launched on Steam! It may look pop, but it's a serious game—and there's even a Zundamon DLC [UPDATE]

On September 10, HIGH-END Games released the official version (Version 1.0) of the rhythm game "PLATiNA :: LAB" for PC (Steam).

The main story is finally here! Featuring over 100 tracks

Set in a research lab, this note-dropping rhythm game challenges players to play notes to unravel the mysteries of an “encrypted” data world. While the gameplay mechanics are classic—requiring players to press multiple keys on the keyboard to match the notes—it’s a full-fledged music game with a pop-inspired aesthetic.

The full version features over 100 playable tracks—ranging from original songs to collaborations with popular IPs—as well as more than 10 charming and unique characters known as “DBs.” A “Zundamon” DLC was also released previously (available for a limited time until March 5, 2027).

Version 1.0 introduces the first main story chapter. Players take on the role of a “Decoder” with special talents and, alongside researchers Irene, Bambi, and Cake, uncover the secrets hidden behind the encrypted world. The story is fully voiced by a cast of Korean voice actors.

New Music DLC Released Simultaneously

Coinciding with the official release, the new music DLC “SWEETIE’S DLC PACK” will be available. This is the largest music DLC in the game’s history, featuring a total of 24 new tracks, each with its own dedicated BGA (background animation). Customization items—including the new DB character “Cake (Sweet),” device skins, and note skins—will also be added.

The “FLAGSHIP Collection DLC,” a compilation of collaboration tracks with partners from around the world, will also be released simultaneously. You can enjoy crossover tracks with various popular IPs—such as “Jantama” and “Nijisanji”—all in a single pack. Some of the tracks included in this DLC can be played for free even by main game users who haven’t purchased the DLC.

Additionally, to coincide with the official release, the regular price of the main game will be permanently reduced from 3,499 yen to 2,499 yen. As a token of our gratitude, players who purchased the main game before the price adjustment will receive the “SWEETIE;S DLC PACK” and three exclusive customization items for free.

In addition, following the official release, we plan to gradually add the “FRIEND” feature, which allows players to compare scores with one another, and the “QUEST” system, which offers goals and rewards. The online mode is currently in development, with the goal of conducting a closed beta test within 2026.

HIGH-END Games, the developer behind this title, is based in South Korea. The game has garnered attention as a project featuring revol21c—a former ‘DJMAX’ developer—as its game designer. It successfully raised funds through a crowdfunding campaign in South Korea, and its Early Access release began in April 2025.

For *DJMAX* players, it might be easier to understand (?) if we say that revol21c is the person who served as “Red” in NB Ranger.

“PLATiNA :: LAB,” which supports Japanese, is currently available for PC (Steam). The price is 2,499 yen, and until September 24, it can be purchased at a 15% discount for 2,124 yen.

*UPDATE (September 18, 2026, 2:52 PM): We have corrected the description of the game’s content. Thank you for pointing this out in the comments.
