"Gears of War: E-Day" Detailed System Requirements Revealed—Even Minimum Configurations Require Hardware Ray Tracing and Upscaling

The Coalition has released detailed system requirements for the PC version of the TPS game *Gears of War: E-Day*.

Ray tracing and upscaling are required at a minimum—this looks like it will be a resource-intensive game.

This title is the latest entry in the *Gears of War* series, scheduled for release on October 6, 2026, andset 14 years before the main *Gears of War* storyline, depicting the events of “Emergence Day”—when hordes of Locust first emerged from underground—through the perspectives of Marcus Phoenix and Dominic Santiago.

On September 17, detailed system requirements for the PC version were published on Xbox Wire.

According to the newly released information, the minimum requirements for “Medium” graphics settings and a target of 1080p at 60 FPS are: a CPU such as the AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel i7‑6850K, Intel i5‑10400, a GPU such as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 6600, or Radeon RX 9060, and 12GB of RAM.

Additionally, the recommended specifications are set to “High” graphics settings, targeting a resolution of 1440p at over 60 FPS, with a CPU of AMD Ryzen 5 5600 / Intel i5‑11600K,a GPU such as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, or Radeon RX 9060 XT, and 16GB of memory.

For the maximum configuration, with graphics settings set to “Ultra” and a target of over 60 FPS at 4K resolution, the recommended CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D or Intel i7‑14700K,GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT, 16 GB of memory.

Storage capacity is 115GB.

As of June of this year, both the minimum and recommended system requirements had been published on Steam, but the target resolution and frame rate were not specified; this announcement has now clarified those details.

Please note that a GPU with hardware ray tracing support is required to play this game, and all the resolutions mentioned above utilize upscaling.

"Gears of War: E-Day," a third-person shooter (TPS) that promises overwhelming graphics with heavy rendering demands, is scheduled for release on October 6 (local time) with pre-installation available starting at 12:00 AM on September 30 for PC (Microsoft Store/Steam) andXBOX Series X|S. The game supports Japanese audio and is also available via Game Pass on the Microsoft Store.
