Nintendo has released a developer interview series titled “We Asked the Developers: Fire Emblem: A Thousand Blossoms.”
*Fire Emblem: A Thousand Blossoms* was originally planned to feature eight protagonists.
*Fire Emblem: A Thousand Blooms* is the latest installment in the simulation RPG series, scheduled for release on September 17 for the Nintendo Switch 2.The game tells two stories: one in which four protagonists aim to win the Great Gladiator Tournament, and another set five years later, in which the Savior, alongside their companions, takes on the demon god “Barol.”
In the newly released “We Asked the Developers” segment, it was revealed that the game is designed to be enjoyable even for those unfamiliar with *Fire Emblem: Three Houses*, that the setting of Dagza is inspired by the ancient Mediterranean region, and that Ishmar, the Savior, was a character added midway through development.
They also shared a behind-the-scenes story: originally, the plan was to have eight protagonists instead of four. However, they decided to focus on highlighting the stories of four of them to avoid making the narrative too complex.

In addition, details about the game system were revealed. It was explained that if you recruit and train the same character through different routes, that character’s stats will be consolidated for later in the story.

The full interview, which also includes behind-the-scenes stories about the music and character design, is available on the official Nintendo website. *Fire Emblem: Three Houses* is scheduled for release on September 17 for the Nintendo Switch 2.
