HIJIKI has released a free short visual novel titled *Tea Kano: The Girl Who Only Says Clichés*, which can be played on a browser or PC.
“Don’t you think city train stations are like mazes?”—A girl who only says things you’ve heard somewhere before
This short adventure game follows a date with a girl who only says things that sound like clichés or jokes you’ve heard online. The main character is Moka Kurishie, a classmate in Class 1-A who is an excellent student, lovely, and has been the talk of the school since the entrance ceremony, with people saying, “She’s so cute…”The protagonist invites her to the movie theater, and since she agreed for some reason, they go on a date.
The protagonist heads out to the date full of excitement, but every time Kurishie opens her mouth, she fires off a barrage of overused internet jokes. Right after they meet, she says, “Don’t you think city train stations are like labyrinths?” and goes on to make comments like, “Chocolate mint tastes like toothpaste,” and “Maybe humans are the truly scary ones.”
Players will converse with this “boring girl,” Kurishie, and select their options. However, choosing standard options won’t change the ending; the story branches into five different endings depending on which of the four chapters you choose to “go home” in.
And what is the truth behind Ms. Kurishie that will be revealed…? A single playthrough takes about 10 minutes, and collecting all endings takes about 30 minutes, so see for yourself what happens next.
Incidentally, the developer, HIJIKI, is a creator known for titles like *Reroll Isekai DK*, which has amassed over 4.5 million views on related gameplay videos. Although that title was temporarily taken down, it was re-released in April 2026.
“Tea Kano: The Girlfriend Who Only Says Trite Things” is currently available for free on browser (PLiCy) and as a PC download (BOOTH).
