On October 29, Compile Heart announced that “Dokapon Kingdom Connect 2,” the latest entry in the “Dokapon” series, will be released worldwide simultaneously in the summer of 2027 for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch 2, and Switch.
Knock out other players and aim to be the sole victor
The “Dokapong” series is known as the original “friendship-destroying game.” “Dokapong Kingdom Connect 2” will be released as a completely new title, developed as always by Sting.
While retaining the series’ signature strategic maneuvering and excitement, the new title incorporates numerous new gameplay styles and features, signaling the dawn of a new era of “friendship-destroying” fun.
Players spin the roulette to move forward on the map by the number of steps indicated, and receive various effects depending on the space they land on. On empty terrain spaces, battles with monsters occur; winning grants experience points. When leveling up, players can choose which stats to improve.
There are various ways to increase your wealth, such as defeating monsters or saving villages to receive tribute. Furthermore, “dirty” tactics—like raiding other players to steal their valuables or robbing shops of items—are also possible, leading to the kind of battles unique to a “Friendship Destruction” game, where victory is achieved at the expense of friendship.
The game supports 1 to 4 players (2 to 4 players for online play). You can also battle players from around the world online in this title.
New features include “Massive Co-op Battles” against Giga Monsters and character creation!
One of the new features is the “Grand Co-op Battle,” where all players band together to take on a Giga Monster that invades Dokapon Castle. If you win, you’ll receive generous rewards for defeating it, but you can choose whether to share them or keep them all for yourself—which is sure to put friendships to the test.
Character creation has also been newly introduced. You can freely create your very own hero by choosing your favorite hairstyle from a wide variety of options or tweaking the eyes and mouth to create a funny face.
Once you’ve created a character, you can save it and use it as many times as you like.
Announced at “Thailand Game Show 2026.” Exhibited alongside the previous title
This title was announced simultaneously worldwide at the “gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show” (Thailand Game Show 2026), currently being held in Bangkok, Thailand, from October 29 to November 1. Both this title and its predecessor, *Dokapon Kingdom Connect*, are on display at the venue.
The “Dokapon” series reportedly enjoys immense popularity in Thailand, on par with its popularity in Japan and North America. The announcement states, “Look forward to cross-border strategic maneuvering and a new kind of ‘friendship-destroying’ action!” Let’s look forward to further updates.
