Clara Tan, one of the fans who gathered in Los Angeles despite the cancellation of the “Uma Musume: Pretty Derby” live event in the U.S. and who was cosplaying as “Super Creek,” revealed on her Facebook page that she was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the airport on her way home.
Performance Canceled Due to Visa Denial; Travel Expenses to Be Refunded
First, let’s recap the cancellation of the Los Angeles live event.
On October 20, Cygames announced the cancellation of the live event “Uma Musume Pretty Derby 7th EVENT WORLD TOUR ‘THE STAGE’ in LOS ANGELES,” which had been scheduled for October 22 and 23, 2026 (local time in Los Angeles). The reason given for the cancellation was that, despite working with local attorneys and promoters and having begun preparations for visa acquisition more than half a year ago, the company was unable to obtain the U.S. visas required for the event.
At the time of the cancellation announcement, the organizers stated they planned to issue refunds for on-site tickets, streaming tickets, JTB’s official tours, and live viewings. On October 21, they added a statement outlining their policy to reimburse accommodation and transportation costs for fans who had planned to attend in person.
The policy involves paying cancellation fees to fans who canceled their reservations and providing refunds—subject to specific timeframes and conditions—to fans who had already traveled to the venue. The generosity of this policy has become a hot topic on social media.
Furthermore, on October 23, it was announced that, with the cooperation of GOOD SMILE COMPANY U.S., merchandise originally scheduled for sale at the concert would be sold on-site at short notice. A pop-up store will be open from October 24 to November 1 (local time).
These items will be available for purchase even without a concert ticket, and the store will carry all merchandise except for items included with VIP tickets. Mail-order sales for residents of the U.S. and Canada, as well as post-event mail-order sales open to everyone, are also planned.
Super Creek Cosplayer Detained by ICE at Airport on Way Home
Although the concert was canceled, “Uma Musume” fans who arrived in Los Angeles are still in high spirits, likely thanks to the generous support they’ve received (see the hashtag “#UmaMusume7thLiveLosAngelesTripWithoutThe7thLive”).Amid this, Clara Tan, an international fan dressed as “Super Creek,” reported on Facebook that she had been detained by ICE, a development that was also covered by the international media outlet Kotaku.
Since it was difficult to cancel hotel reservations and airline tickets, it seems many fans went to Los Angeles anyway. At the “Cosplay Trackside” *Uma Musume* cosplay event held at Santa Anita Park, fans interacted with one another, and Tan reportedly enjoyed the weekend in her Super Creek cosplay.
However, according to her post, she arrived at the Rochester, New York, airport around midnight local time on October 26 and was heading toward the taxi stand when four men called out her name, identified themselves as ICE agents, and told her they had an arrest warrant.Although she asked to see the warrant and their identification, they replied, “We’ll show you in the car.” When she tried to make a phone call, the four men reportedly knocked her to the ground all at once.
She also stated that she sustained an injury to her left leg during the incident and that it is highly likely she has a fracture.
He was subsequently transported in an unmarked SUV (presumably an unmarked police vehicle) to a detention facility in Batavia, New York. He claims that despite repeatedly requesting to contact a lawyer and receive medical treatment for his leg, his requests were ignored. The formal proceedings took place around 2:00 p.m. that same day, at which time he was shown an administrative warrant that lacked a court signature.
Although the warrant listed her date and point of entry as “unknown,” Ms. Tan claims she has records showing she entered the country on June 18, 2019, via JFK Airport. She also wrote that when an investigator told her during the transfer that she lacked legal status, she countered that she was in the process of completing the necessary procedures to apply for asylum.
Ultimately, since the facility did not house women, she was released on the condition that she wear an ankle monitor until her court date. After being detained for approximately 18 hours, she wrote this post while at a hospital emergency room.
She reportedly was told by the officers that the discovery of her boarding a flight a few days earlier was what led to her detection, and Ms. Tan appears to believe that her trip to Los Angeles was the trigger.

Reflecting on the series of events, Tan noted that her performance was canceled due to immigration issues, and her own trip also came to an end because of those same issues. Toward the end of her post, she addressed the fans with whom she had spent the weekend, saying that politics often feels like a distant concept until it directly affects you, and asked them to picture her face when thinking about this issue.
At the very end of the post, he quoted Kitasan Black’s line, “HARIKITTE IKOU (Let’s give it our all),” demonstrating a positive attitude.
Please note that this report is based on Tan’s own post. While it may be understandable given what he went through, the actual post contains many extreme expressions, so please exercise caution when viewing it. Additionally, as of the time of writing, we have not been able to confirm the views of ICE or other relevant agencies.
