Behavior Interactive has announced details about “Terrifier,” a collaboration chapter between *Dead by Daylight* and the *Terrifier* movie series, and has launched a Public Test Build (PTB) on Steam starting today, October 29.
Modern-day slasher Art the Clown heads to the misty forest
In this chapter, “Art the Clown”—a murderous clown with black-and-white makeup—joins the game as the Killer, while “Sienna Shaw,” the “Final Girl” from the second film in the “Terrifier” series, “Terrifier: The Never-Ending Tragedy,” joins as a Survivor. The official release is scheduled for late November 2026.

The “Terrifer” film series is known for its extreme gore and has grown from a cult classic into a series that represents indie horror. Three feature films have been released so far, and a fourth is currently in production.
In *Dead by Daylight*, which features many killers inspired by classic horror films from the 1980s and 1990s, developer Behaviour Interactive describes Art the Crown as “a slasher emblematic of the modern era.”
This chapter had previously been announced for release in November, and it’s finally here.
“Bag of Toys”: Weapons Pop Out of a Garbage Bag
Art the Crown, a serial killer resurrected by demonic powers, fights by randomly pulling weapons out of a trash bag using his special ability, “Bag of Toys.”
The contents vary widely, ranging from flails and flamethrowers to handguns, bottles of acid, and even a bicycle horn. The system is designed so that the weapon’s lethality increases with every successful hit.
Each weapon also comes with its own unique “Mini-Mori.” Additionally, this update introduces Art’s very first Killer-exclusive emote—a first for the game. He can pull off playful antics, such as pointing at a survivor hanging from a hook and laughing it off.
Art the Crown has the following three unique Perks:
Funny Business: Dealing damage
to a generator temporarily increases your movement speed and triggers random additional effects. These effects range from practical ones, such as blocking a generator, to simple ones like confetti floating through the air.Kill Spree: Once
all generators are repaired and all survivors reach their second hook stage, you can kill survivors.Laughingstock: Causes survivors near a fully
repaired generator to become Fatigued and Numb

Sienna Shaw, who joins the game as a Survivor, is a young woman bound by a supernatural connection to Art the Crown. She steps into the Mist Forest equipped with the following three unique Perks:
Best Gift Ever: By placing an item you’re
carrying on the ground, you can gain a powerful ability.Shared Trauma: When you take an attack meant for
another survivor, all survivors within 12 meters can recover from Fatigue while runningValkyrie’s Rage: When you startle the Killer with a pallet while being
chased, you inflict a stronger stun effect than usual
The new map is a shopping mall inspired by Liminal Space
This update also adds “The Hartshorne Mall,” an original map that the community has been requesting for years. Inspired by “Liminal Space,” this map depicts a shopping mall once bustling with families that has been warped into an eerie, otherworldly space by the Entity’s power.

Clues related to the Survivor “Dwight Fairfield” are reportedly hidden throughout the map. It is said that Dwight had a traumatic encounter with an Entity when he got lost in the shopping mall as a child.

*Dead by Daylight* is currently available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), PS5, PS4, XBOX Series X|S, XBOX One, and Nintendo Switch. The “Terrifier” collaboration chapter, based on the movie *Terrifier*, is scheduled for release in late November 2026, and the Public Test Build (PTB) began at midnight on October 29.
