Game developer Infinite Create has announced that its all-new title, *The Elevator with the Best Memory!?*, will be released on PC (Steam) on December 10, 2026.
On which floor was the bird seen through the elevator window?
This title marks the return of the developer behind the action-puzzle game *Birds and Nuts*, which earned a 95% “Positive” rating on Steam User Reviews (classified as “Overwhelmingly Positive” when there are a large number of reviews). The developer had announced in November 2025 that they were ending their game development activities, and that announcement garnered significant attention, with the post surpassing 3 million impressions.
Encouraged by fan support, the developer has announced this new title alongside the resumption of their activities.
The new title, *The Elevator with the Best Memory!?*, is a 3D spatial memory death game that requires players to simultaneously utilize observation, identification, and memory.
As players ascend five floors at a time in the elevator, they observe the diverse array of birds visible through the window in the neighboring building. Upon reaching a floor, a monitor displays the question, “On which floor was that bird?” Players must explore the floor and board the elevator marked with the correct floor number to proceed another five floors upward.
However, if you answer incorrectly, you’ll be forced to go back five floors, and once you run out of your three lives, you’ll be sent to the terrifying “Bird Court.”

The setting is a cold, concrete, hotel-like, inorganic 3D space (a liminal space), characterized by a surreal scene where realistic birds crowd together. It’s said to be a “bird death game” that marks a 180-degree shift from the adorable atmosphere of the previous title, exuding a distinct sense of tension.

Within each floor, the traces (data) of over 30 past players from around the world roam the area. When you approach them, a speech bubble appears displaying the “sour grapes” remarks they uttered when they actually lost—creating a pseudo-multiplayer element without the need to wait for matchmaking.

Additionally, the name of the first player in the world to reach the 5,000th floor will be permanently engraved on a trophy located on the main floor, which all players visit. It looks like it will be a race to earn the honor of leaving one’s name for the world to see.
The game also supports cooperative play where streamers and viewers share the burden of memorizing the levels using the stream’s chat section. For example, a streamer could memorize the first three floors while a viewer memorizes the remaining two.

“We wanted to rebuild the game engine from scratch and pursue the ultimate in development efficiency.”
According to Infinite Create, they initially considered entering a contest with a different title, *Tori vs. the Demon King*, or exploring a Nintendo Switch port of their previous game. However, they explained that during this process, the desire to “rework the game engine from scratch and pursue the ultimate in development efficiency” took root, leading them to decide to create a completely new title through self-publishing as an independent developer.
Regarding the Switch port of the previous title, they are currently in the process of adjusting each bird model individually to optimize performance, and it will reportedly take some time yet.
*The Elevator with the Best Memory!?* is scheduled for release on PC (Steam) on December 10, 2026. The price is expected to be 780 yen.
