Nas Nakarus of Studio Bitdot reported that he has created a new mode for *Needle In A Haystack Simulator: A Needle in a Haystack* in which players must find the original game among a pile of game packages.
Turning the Flood of Clones into Fun
This casual game challenges players to find “just one needle” among 5 million stalks of hay. As you sift through the hay, you may discover treasures; you can sell these to earn money and upgrade your tools. The game also supports online co-op play with friends.
Since the concept video for this game was released on August 22, 2026, and garnered a huge response on social media, similar titles have been appearing one after another on Roblox and Steam. The developers have taken measures such as adding an “ORIGINAL” logo to the capsule art of the original game.
Additionally, in mid-October, NoGlyph—the developer of *Needle In A Haystack*, a game modeled after the original—made headlines by claiming that another similar title, *A Game About Needle In A Haystack*, had plagiarized its program code.
Amid these developments, Nas reported on his X account that he created a new mode because “our ‘needle-in-a-haystack’ game has been cloned far too many times.”
A video attached to the post reveals that in the new mode, the object of the search has shifted from a needle to a game package. It appears to be a mode where players must find the original game among a pile of game titles.
Note that the playtest scheduled to begin this week for the original game had teased a “secret third mode” in addition to the hardcore mode, but it remains unclear whether this new mode is the one in question.
"Needle In A Haystack Simulator: A Needle in a Haystack" is scheduled for release on PC (Steam) sometime in 2026. It will also support Japanese.
