A24 is producing a live-action film adaptation of “Elden Ring.” It looks like it might turn out to be a massive production with a runtime of nearly three hours.
It looks set to be a film that thoroughly explores its epic world
While it was recently reported that the production budget for the “Elden Ring” movie could reach nearly $200 million, according to Deadline—an international media outlet specializing in the film and entertainment industry—the script for this film is extremely lengthy, spanning at least 180 pages, raising the possibility that the movie’s runtime could be nearly three hours.
Regarding these scripts, A24 staff are reportedly being dispatched directly to international buyers, where the scripts are being read under strict security measures—with staff present to prevent spoilers.

The game’s world and mythology, crafted in collaboration with George R.R. Martin, the author of “Game of Thrones,” are so rich and complex that they continue to be the subject of lively discussion even more than four years after the game’s release,so it’s understandable that adapting them into a film—in a way that makes them accessible to first-time viewers—would naturally result in a longer runtime.
Filming has been completed, and the project is currently in post-production, with a theatrical release scheduled for March 2028.

Additionally, this report revealed that Amazon MGM Studios has secured the pay-one streaming rights (the first video-on-demand release following the theatrical release) in many international markets and has joined the project.
The live-action film adaptation of “Elden Ring” is scheduled for theatrical release overseas on March 3, 2028. The release date in Japan has not yet been announced.
