Square Enix has released a story segment and gameplay footage featuring the piano from *Final Fantasy VII: Revelations* on the series' official X account.
Tifa’s mother, who appeared in the novel, is now in the game!
This title is the third and final installment in the *Final Fantasy VII Remake* series. The story centers on the final battle against Sephiroth, and gameplay features exploring an open world aboard the airship Highwind and the ability to descend via parachute.
Following the recent release of footage showing a return to the Midgar area, new gameplay footage featuring the piano and a story segment about Tifa have now been unveiled.
While the piano made an appearance in the second game, *Final Fantasy VII Reverse*, the third installment promises even more evolved gameplay. According to the official X video, it seems you’ll be able to produce the sounds of an acoustic guitar, drums, and a double bass.
Additionally, the third official X video reveals an episode featuring Tifa as a child. The key point is that Tifa’s parents make an appearance.
Although their names aren’t mentioned in the video’s subtitles, Brian (Tifa’s father) and Tea (her mother) appeared in the novel *FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE Traces of Two Pasts*. While Brian’s face is shown, Tea, unfortunately, appears only from behind. Still, you can hear both parents’ voices.

Perhaps we’ll get to see Tifa’s mother, Thera Lockhart, in *Final Fantasy VII Revelations*? It might just be a shot from behind, but it’s something to look forward to.
Since the novel “FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE: Traces of Two Pasts” also tells the story of Tifa’s parents, it might be a good idea to read it before the game’s release.
*Final Fantasy VII Revelations* is scheduled for release on April 8, 2027, for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), PS5, XBOX Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
