“ELbab,” a build-crafting auto-battle roguelike, fully launches on Steam for fans of “Path of Exile” and external build sim “PoB”

A game in which most of the playtime is spent building.

PC Windows
"ELbab," an auto-battle roguelike where you can fine-tune your character builds to your heart's content, has officially launched on Steam. It's perfect for fans of both "Path of Exile" and the third-party build simulator "PoB."

Indie game developer makz has released the official version of the auto-battle roguelike "ELbab" on PC (Steam).

Refine, refine, and refine your character builds

Based on the concept of a “playable hack-and-slash build design tool,” this auto-battle roguelike was created under the strong influence of the hack-and-slash title *Path of Exile* (hereinafter “PoE”) and its unofficial build simulator tool, “PoB.”

The setting is the “Library of the Circle,” said to contain every book from the past, present, and future. Players select an adventurer and set out on a quest to find “ELbab”—the book said to be hidden somewhere within this library, containing everything they seek.

Each character has a skill tree.

Players strengthen their characters by using “Engraved Stones”—primarily obtained from enemies—to unlock nodes within the tree, thereby increasing base stats or unlocking slots for books that boost damage multipliers and other effects. Combat is automated, so players simply watch and trust that their chosen build is on the right track.

The developer, makz, succinctly describes this game as “a game where you simply play PoB (a build simulation tool for PoE) while grinding through the game,” positioning it as a title aimed at those who enjoy crafting character builds.

In the official v1.0 release, a new “Endless Mode” has been introduced, which can only be accessed using save data from clearing the game’s final difficulty. Additionally, new books for character enhancement have been added.

Other new features include “Replay” for reviewing battles, “Analysis” for checking detailed stats, and “Accelerated Combat,” which supports speeds of up to 10x.

"ELbab" is currently available for PC (Steam) for 800 yen. As part of a release anniversary sale, it can be purchased for 480 yen—a 40% discount—through November 3.
