"Library of Ruina" Story Is So Long It's Been Recognized by Guinness—Approximately 113 Hours of Intense Battles and Storytelling. The "Promun Swamp" Spans About 246 Hours Across Three Titles—or Rather, It Looks Like It Might Be Over 1,000 Hours Long

South Korea's ProjectMoon announced that *Library of Ruina* has been recognized by Guinness World Records as having the "longest video game campaign/story."

With a main campaign lasting approximately 113 hours, it surpasses the previous record holder, *Persona 5 The Royal*.

According to the Guinness World Records page, the certified record is for “Longest videogame campaign/story.” As of June 2026, the playtime for the game’s main campaign is listed as approximately 113 hours.

This figure reportedly exceeds that of the previous record holder, *Persona 5 The Royal*, by 12 hours.

Note that this figure matches the data from “HowLongToBeat,” a website that aggregates completion times.

As of this writing, user-submitted data on the site indicates that the main story alone takes about 113 hours, the main story plus side content takes about 131 hours, and a full completion—including all collectibles—takes about 164 hours.*Persona 5 The Royal* takes approximately 101 hours for the main story alone, about 122 hours including side content, and about 140 hours for a full completion—meaning this new title surpasses it in every category.

The “Promun Swamp” That Might Exceed 1,000 Hours

Set in a library, this game features a visual novel-style story combined with turn-based card battles. The story picks up where the previous title, *Lobotomy Corporation*, left off, with librarians battling “guests” who visit the library using dice and cards.

Battles are characterized by their strategic nature, as players can see the enemy’s actions in advance and respond on a turn-based basis. This is not a deck-building roguelike; instead, the cards and units available are determined by the stage of the story, allowing players to experience exquisitely challenging battles designed by the developers.

In an article published by Game*Spark to coincide with the October 2026 Steam Autumn Sale, which introduced both this game and *Lobotomy Corporation*, the site stated—based on user-submitted data from HowLongToBeat—that “the main story alone takes approximately 113 hours to complete.”

In fact, it took this writer about 120 hours to complete the game, and I believe it truly deserves the title of “longest video game campaign/story.”

The three titles from ProjectMoon—known as “Promun”—“Lobotomy Corporation,” “Library Of Ruina,” and the free-to-play “Limbus Company”—are all connected by stories set in the same “city.”

Incidentally, according to HowLongToBeat, the first game, *Lobotomy Corporation*, takes 58.5 hours to complete the main story, while the third, *Limbus Company*, takes 75 hours. Combined, the main stories of all three games total approximately 246 hours.

Finally, the second installment in this massive story and world—which has earned a Guinness World Record—is here. If you start with the first game, hundreds of hours… no, over 1,000 hours of “Promun addiction” await you. Why not take this opportunity to play through the series?

"Library Of Ruina" is currently available for PC (Steam/Microsoft Store), XBOX One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. The PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions feature full Japanese voice acting.
