YouTuber Naruni-nii, known as “Senior Knight” for his game analysis and story commentary videos, announced that he is taking legal action—including consulting with a lawyer and the police and filing a police report—regarding death threats, threats to blow up his home, and financial extortion he has received.

Criticism Surrounds Report Video on “The Abyss of Vows”

In 2023, Naruni raised approximately 50 million yen through crowdfunding to develop *The Abyss of Vows*, for which he served as the scenario writer; however, the development team left the project at the end of 2025.It was revealed that after four years of development, the portion of the game that actually functioned was “0–1%, or 3% at most, even when viewed charitably.” On October 23, 2026, he announced that while he was proceeding with refunds, he intended to continue development moving forward.

In his latest video, he also addressed those requesting refunds, saying, “You’re kind people—otherwise, you wouldn’t invest money in a complete stranger,” and added, “I bet there are quite a few good-natured people out there, aren’t there?” He explained that because he is the same type of person, he understands their feelings very well.

“Thank you so much for investing.”He also shared messages of gratitude to his supporters and his former director, saying things like, “I’m so glad you’re here,” but these seemed to be met with a rather cold reception in the YouTube comments section. Despite it being an apology video, he faced criticism for appearing in the video wearing a helmet—just as he usually does—and the situation escalated into a scandal involving death threats and threats to blow up his home from some heartless individuals.

October 26 Post

After consulting with his attorney regarding the death threats, threats to blow up his home, and financial extortion, he stated that he is proceeding with the necessary steps to file a police report. He added that he will continue to respond strictly—including through legal action—to any behavior that crosses the line.

He is also calling on people unrelated to this case to stop engaging in similar behavior.

No matter the circumstances, death threats are absolutely unacceptable. Death threats and intimidation against developers and game companies have occurred both domestically and internationally; most recently, it was reported that a man who sent a bomb threat to Nintendo in May 2026 was arrested.
