Daedalic Entertainment has announced that it will release "Home & Harbor," a new DLC for the survival horror game *Barotrauma*, on December 2 (local time).
Get Your Very Own Outpost
This multiplayer-enabled submarine survival horror game involves accepting missions across various locations and navigating the dimly lit ocean depths in a submarine while confronting unknown threats. When the company recently announced a price reduction in Japan, it stated that “further details on the DLC would be revealed soon,” and the release date has now been announced.
In this DLC, players will be able to own their “very own deep-sea outpost.” Owning a base appears to offer benefits such as access to resources and new technologies.
There are several ways to acquire a base, such as capturing a location or earning one through missions. Since bases are vulnerable to raids, be sure to fortify your defenses once you’ve secured one. Additionally, installing this DLC introduces a new faction called “Descendants.”

This DLC also includes a free “Companion Update” for the base game, scheduled for release on November 26. This update is necessary for the “Home & Harbor” DLC to function properly with the main game, and it also adds a new plugin system designed to make mod creation easier.
In terms of content, the update will add “amputations and prosthetics, advanced gardening and decoration, and a more vibrant world.” Furthermore, it appears that a new transport submarine will be added, along with optimizations to address long-standing bugs.

The “Home & Harbor” DLC, which reportedly took about two years to develop, is scheduled for release on December 2 (local time). The free companion update for the base game is scheduled for release on November 26.
