Liner Studio has announced that its anomaly-themed driving horror game, *Anomaly Road*, will be released for PC (Steam) on November 6, 2026.
If you encounter a dangerous presence, run! A hunt for anomalies unfolding on mountain roads
Inspired by *Exit 8* and *Liminal Space*, this horror game combines “anomalies” and “driving,” challenging players to search for anomalies while driving along Japanese mountain passes in an attempt to escape.
The setting is a mountain road modeled after a famous mountain pass in “Gun○ Prefecture” with unique twists added. Various anomalies await players who find themselves lost deep in the mountains while driving.

As you drive while keeping an eye on your surroundings, you’ll encounter strange oncoming vehicles, tunnels with no end in sight, and “something” chasing after your car. When you encounter a dangerous presence, you’ll have to floor the gas and make a break for it.
The game features a total of 61 different types of these anomalies. It’s said that they aren’t just meant to be scary—there are also beautiful and humorous ones. In the trailer, you can see a giant banana peel that makes the car skid and a middle-aged male driver flying through the air, and it’s reported that “massive natural disasters” will also occur.

Developer Liner Studio is currently expanding its “Anomalies” series, which includes *Anomalies: Shibuya*—set around Shibuya’s Scramble Crossing—and *Anomalies: Railroad Crossing*, where players search for anomalies near a railroad crossing with a view of the ocean.
According to the developer, YouTube gameplay videos of the previous two titles—which have been featured by famous YouTubers—have surpassed a cumulative total of 7 million views. While this new title serves as a spiritual sequel to those games, it has no direct connection to them, so players can enjoy it even if they haven’t played the previous ones.
*Anomalous Road* is scheduled for release on PC (Steam) on November 6, 2026. A demo version is also currently available.
