Funktronic Labs has launched early access for the action RPG *Scramble Knights Online* for PC and Xbox Series X|S.

Adventure through islands filled with puzzles, dungeons, and treasure

*Scramble Knights Online* was developed by Funktronic Labs, the indie studio behind *The Light Brigade* and *Fujii: A Magical Gardening Adventure*.Originally announced in 2025 as a 32-player battle royale, the game subsequently underwent a major genre shift to become a light-hearted adventure focused primarily on cooperative PvE, and the title was changed to *Scramble Knights Online*.

According to the developers, this title was inspired by *The Legend of Zelda*. As a knight-in-training, players will explore the kingdom of “Terracotta” alongside companions they meet online.

Conquer dungeons, defeat monsters, and return to base when you find rare loot. Forge new gear and set off on your next quest.

In addition to adventuring, when you return to the town square, you can enjoy fishing with friends, upgrade your gear, and recruit fellow adventurers online.

Although the world isn’t as large as an MMO, it’s designed for up to 32 players to share the same environment. You can form parties of up to four players to play together.

  • Online Split-Screen: Play local couch co-op
    with friends online (not available in beta).

  • Chicken Mode:
    When you die, you turn into a chicken and watch your team from the sidelines. Wobble. Wobble.

An update released prior to the Early Access launch added new dungeons, new content—including new cutscenes that play when you start a new game—and fixed bugs.

"Scramble Knights Online" is now available for PC (Steam/Microsoft Store) and XBOX Series X|S. It is also compatible with Game Pass.
