Almost ready to head “underground”? Revisiting Midgar from a new perspective
This title is the concluding chapter of the *Final Fantasy VII* Remake trilogy. Cloud and his companions will travel the world aboard the airship Highwind to face Sephiroth in a final battle that will determine the planet’s future.
New playable characters, including “Vincent” and “Cid,” have been added, and a new job-like system called “Wear” has been implemented. At Tokyo Game Show 2026, a playable demo showcasing these new features was on display.
This time, the official X account shared footage showing players exploring the “Midgar Area,” which can be considered the starting point of *Final Fantasy VII*. The video shows players riding Chocobos and gliding from high vantage points deep into the area, and it suggests that players will be able to reach locations that were inaccessible in *Final Fantasy VII Remake*.
*Final Fantasy VII Revelations* is scheduled for release on April 8, 2027, for PC (Steam/Epic Games Store), PS5, XBOX Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
