The indie game development group Namikaze Project has released Windows and macOS versions of the 3D vertical shoot 'em up *Idinaroak* that run on current operating systems.

A restored version of the title, first released in 1999, featuring new scenarios and other additions

This vertical-scrolling 3D shoot ’em up was distributed at Comic Market 56 and 57 in 1999 and was also released as freeware.

With opening and ending themes, cutscenes, and a story featuring voice acting, the game was crafted with great attention to presentation beyond the gameplay itself. It has been enjoyed by many, recording over 1.12 million total downloads on Vector, a software distribution site for freeware and other programs.

This newly released version adds support for Windows (x64, arm64) and macOS.

Previously, running older versions on Windows 10 or later required the use of external tools, so this update makes the game much more accessible. Additionally, this new version is a “Restored Edition” that includes new scenarios and other content, making it a release worth noting not only for longtime fans but also for players experiencing the game for the first time.

Furthermore, an update was released on October 25. Enemies on the Normal and Hard difficulty levels have been adjusted “to make gameplay more intense,” allowing players aiming for a high score to achieve even higher scores.

Yo Minakaze posted on X, saying, “Since it runs natively, it’s smooth and responsive—I think there are many benefits to this, so please give it a try.”

"Idinarok" is available for download from the Namikaze Project official website.
