"HUNGER," an escape-style PvPvE game featuring a leisurely pace, will hold a server load test on October 25—registration for the current CBT is still open

GOOD FUN CORPORATION—a development studio comprised of the original developers of *Hell Let Loose*—has announced plans to conduct a server load test for its upcoming online multiplayer action game, *HUNGER*.

Server Load Test Scheduled for October 25

Set in a world ravaged by a plague during the Napoleonic Wars, the PvPvE title *HUNGER* challenges players to battle monsters and hostile players while gathering loot and striving to escape.

It has been announced that a “Server Slam” event, designed to test server load, will be held on October 25 (local time), which marks the final day of the closed beta test currently underway since October 19.

“HUNGER” Server Slam Event

  • Date: October 25 (Overseas Time)

  • Eligibility: CBT participants (new applications are still being accepted)

  • You can participate in online matches alone or with a friend

  • Game content remains unchanged

You can still join the Closed Beta Test

The final day of the Server Slam is fast approaching, but we’re still accepting applications to join the ongoing Closed Beta Test itself. If you apply via the “Join Playtest” section on the game’s Steam store page, you may be selected to participate (this is a manual, case-by-case approval process, not automated).Selected participants can not only play themselves but also invite up to three friends.

A Deliberate Focus on Slower Movement Speed

As a side note, on October 21, the developer posted a lengthy explanation detailing why the character’s movement speed feels quite slow when you first start playing the game, and why—even though this slowness is mitigated to some extent as the character levels up—the design intentionally includes a fixed upper limit.

The main reason cited is that the game prioritizes interaction with environmental objects and the strategic back-and-forth of close-quarters combat; faster movement speeds would hinder these elements.

Japanese voice acting is included. A promotional video showcasing character development tailored to your playstyle (including reset options) is also available.

Early Access is scheduled to begin sometime in 2026.
