Ratalaika Games and Shinyuden have released the classic robot SRPG *Vixen 357* for PC (Steam), PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
Destroyed units and allies cannot be recovered
This title is a port for modern consoles of the robot simulation RPG originally released by Messiah for the Mega Drive in 1992.
It serves as a sequel of sorts, sharing the same universe as *Flying Cavalry Kaizard*, released in 1990. The story takes place in AD 2396,when “Slash,” a special forces unit operating the highly mobile humanoid weapon “VECTOR”—developed by the newly established nation of Merizma Harp—is attacked by an unknown enemy during training. As the pilot Takuya Murasawa, the player will throw themselves into battle.

Combat unfolds in a turn-based system on grid-based maps, with a total of 16 maps included. Players can freely combine pilots and units—and, depending on the unit, switch weapons—while issuing movement and attack commands to their units to fulfill the victory conditions for each map.
Another key feature is “permadeath” (loss), where defeated pilots and units are permanently lost; therefore, your formation choices—which unit to assign to whom and how to maneuver them—will significantly impact the outcome of subsequent battles.

The newly released version for current-generation consoles includes a gallery where you can view illustrations and posters from the original version. It also reportedly features various functions such as rewind, double speed, save anywhere, screen filters, and cheat modes.
