"PetitCon 4," a programming software for the Switch, has suddenly been taken down—with some overseas reports linking it to misuse for modifying the Switch 2.

As of October 23, 2026, the Nintendo Switch programming software "PetitCon 4 SmileBASIC" is no longer available for download.

Most recently, server updates to address a PHP vulnerability occurred immediately after some services had resumed.

This software allows users to create games and enjoy various programming activities on the Nintendo Switch. In addition to featuring “SmileBASIC,” a programming language designed for beginners, it also provides a variety of creation tools and presets.

It also features a function for sharing created programs online, and server maintenance due to a PHP vulnerability was recently carried out. The service for uploading and downloading creations had just resumed.

However, as of this writing (October 23, 2026, 10:30 PM), it appears the game is unavailable for purchase from the Nintendo Store both domestically and internationally.

While there has been no announcement regarding the sales suspension on the official website or X accounts (@PetitComputer/@smilebasic_com), overseas media outlets such as Twisted Voxel have reported a connection to an incident where a method for modifying two Nintendo Switch consoles by exploiting a vulnerability in this title was disclosed.

The Game*Spark editorial team is currently confirming with the distributor the reason for the sales suspension and whether the game is scheduled to go back on sale.
