Publisher Hyperstrange has announced that the retro sci-fi horror FPS *DERELIKT*, developed by Visuwyg, will be released for PC (Steam) on November 14, 2026, Japan Standard Time.
A survival horror game set on an asteroid station in Saturn’s orbit
This title is a story-driven retro FPS inspired by the claustrophobic sci-fi horror games of the PlayStation 1 era. Influenced by the atmosphere and structure of *System Shock 2*, *Alien Resurrection*, and *DOOM 3*, it depicts the terror of surviving with limited equipment and no hope of rescue.
The setting is the “Von Neumann Outpost,” a remote research facility built on an asteroid in Saturn’s orbit. Once a bustling facility, its corridors are now shrouded in darkness, and its systems are failing one after another. The testimonies of the few remaining survivors are nothing but conflicting accounts.
Players must search the facility for supplies and solve environmental puzzles to carve out new paths.
The dozen or so NPCs left behind in the facility each have their own motives and perspectives on the incident. Some are helpful, some are dangerous, and some are on the brink of ruin… or perhaps some are all of these things at once. It’s up to the player to uncover the truth.
Furthermore, the deeper you venture into the facility, the more dangerous it becomes, and the threats lurking in the darkness are far from straightforward.
In combat, you’ll switch between conventional firearms and alien-derived weapons. Ammo, health, and inventory slots are all precious resources, and the game features a demanding design where every shot comes at a cost. This isn’t a shooter focused on sheer excitement; instead, you’ll face a struggle for survival in an unsettling, hostile environment.
Visually, the game faithfully recreates the aesthetic of the PS1 era, featuring distorted affine textures, dynamic subdivision, hand-painted vertex colors, and full-motion CGI cutscenes. While preserving the retro atmosphere, it also incorporates modern controls and improved comfort.
