On October 21, Shochiku Games and rokaplay select announced that they will release the hole-digging adventure *A Game About Digging A Hole Together*, developed by Mipumi Games, on December 4, 2026.
A hole-digging experience supporting cross-platform co-op play for up to four players
This title is a sequel to *A Game About Digging A Hole* and is a hole-digging adventure game that supports cooperative play for up to four players.
While retaining the simple and highly addictive gameplay of its predecessor, the game was developed in response to player requests such as “We want to dig longer” and “We want to dig together.” Set on a sandy beach, players dig deeper and deeper in search of treasure and the secrets hidden at the very bottom.
The core system consists of a clear cycle: “dig,” “sell the resources you find,” “upgrade your equipment,” and “dig even deeper.”
Over the course of several months, the development team completely reevaluated the game’s flow from the ground up, revamping it for smoother and more stable performance. Furthermore, the game features a deeper underground world, more varied terrain, new tools, and numerous secrets compared to its predecessor.
A key highlight is support for online co-op multiplayer for up to four players and cross-platform play. In addition to PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store) and PS5/Xbox Series X|S, the game is also compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.
Players can connect with friends across different platforms and work together to dig deep into the earth, just like playing in a sandbox at the park. Of course, single-player mode is also supported.
Mipumi Games, the developer, is an indie game studio founded in Vienna, Austria, in 2009. The studio is involved in a wide range of projects—from PC to consoles—including original IP development and technical partnerships.Publishing will be handled jointly by rokaplay select and Shochiku Games, which was launched in June 2024 as Shochiku’s dedicated gaming division.
