"Emberville," a Pixel-Art City-Building ARPG Combining "Diablo" and "Stardew Valley," Launches a Demo on Steam! Defeat Enemies to Collect Resources and Rebuild the Town with NPCs

Ireland-based Cygnus Cross began distributing a demo version of the action RPG *Emberville* for PC (Steam) today, October 20.

Customize your combat style with weapon-specific combos and skill inheritance

Set in “Vitromotus,” a massive underground magical prison, this action RPG follows a protagonist who has lost their memory as they rescue the imprisoned, rebuild the ruined town of “Emberville,” and unravel the mysteries of the prison.

The game is characterized by gameplay that combines *Diablo*-style hack-and-slash action with *Stardew Valley*-style farming and town-building elements. Players embark on adventures to defeat enemies and collect gear in dungeons, while simultaneously building a life and rebuilding the town, eventually venturing into increasingly dangerous areas.

Materials gathered during exploration can be used not only to craft and upgrade equipment but also to construct town facilities and buildings. Rescued NPCs will assist in rebuilding the town, unlock new technologies and abilities, and allow you to delve into the secrets each of them harbors.

Combat is based on fast-paced action and features a weapon-specific combo system that combines main and sub attacks. Weapons such as axes, hammers, and crossbows make an appearance, and the game incorporates a skill inheritance system that allows players to transfer active and passive skills learned in one class to another.

Furthermore, lifestyle activities such as farming, fishing, gathering, and crafting also feature progression systems, allowing players to acquire new recipes and abilities as they gain experience.

As of September, this title had surpassed 600,000 wishlist entries worldwide. The demo released as part of this campaign lets players experience the game’s prologue, including combat, weapon combos, exploration, loot and resource gathering, and equipment crafting; progress made in the demo can be carried over to the Early Access version scheduled for release on October 27, 2026.

Plans for biome expansion and cooperative multiplayer are in the works following the Early Access launch

When the Early Access version launches soon, it will feature the first major biome, as well as the following elements that will serve as the foundation for future expansions:

The first update is scheduled to be released within one month of the Early Access launch. This update will add the final boss of the first biome, enhance controller support, fix bugs, and reveal a roadmap outlining future development plans.

The official release is expected in approximately 18 months, and the number of biomes is scheduled to expand to nine during the Early Access period.
