Joe Brammer, CEO of BULKHEAD, took to social media to warn fans about the proliferation of unofficial mobile games bearing the same name as the studio’s upcoming large-scale military FPS, *WARDOGS*.

As is often the case with hit titles, unofficial mobile games are indeed popping up everywhere

The Original *WARDOGS*

This game is a military FPS where up to 100 players battle in three teams. Having garnered attention since its announcement as a full-scale, large-scale FPS, it has become a hit enjoyed by over 100,000 players as of this writing, following its beta test.

In his post, Brammer attached an image of the game’s search results on the Google Play Store, accompanied by sarcastic comments such as “I want to show you something awful” and “It’s painfully funny.” The image shows two unofficial titles that are clearly using the game’s thumbnail image without permission, and it’s clear that one of them has already been downloaded 50,000 times.Furthermore, as of this writing, a simple search for “wardogs fps” alone brings up as many as eight results with identical thumbnails; one of them—which shares the exact same name—has reached 100,000 downloads.

They even use screenshots identical to those on the original’s store page

While it’s fair to call these titles “fakes,” their actual gameplay may be completely different, and depending on future legal action or measures taken by the Google Play Store, they may be removed or significantly altered. Therefore, users must fully understand that downloading these titles or making in-app purchases is done at their own risk. The original version of “WARDOGS” is currently available in Early Access for Windows (Steam). It is scheduled for release on PS5 and XBOX Series X|S in 2028.
