"Deserters," an adult fantasy simulation game released on DLsite in March 2026, is a reimagining of a classic title from the feature phone era as an adult game. The developers have reported that the game has suffered significant damage due to pirated copies.

"Deserters" is a strategic and tactical simulation game developed by the doujin circle WhiteCute & AlphaNuts. Originally created for feature phones, it was rebuilt for PC over the course of nine years.
Regarding this title, Hide, the circle’s representative, reported in August 2026 that negotiations for overseas distribution with four publishers had fallen through, but by September, they had begun working with a new publisher toward the release of a Steam version.
However, on October 17, it was revealed that a cracked, pirated version of the game was circulating in the Chinese-speaking world, prompting the developer to voice his anguish. Although they had been working on Chinese localization for the Steam version, he stated that due to this incident, “the business is over.”
In subsequent posts, they wrote, “I wondered if the end of a quarter-century of work would come as suddenly as this…” and “I’m in shock over the pirated version and can’t recover—I’m stepping away,” suggesting that the developer was deeply shaken by the incident.
*Deserters* is currently available for PC (DLsite). No definitive statement has been made at this time regarding the future of the Steam version.
