"Blue Team Advantage" in Season 2 of the FPS "WARDOGS" (which supports up to 100 players) Has Been Discontinued—"We Were Wrong," the Developers Say

BULKHEAD announced that it will discontinue the funding and experience point bonuses previously granted to the Blue Team in Season 2 of the FPS game *WARDOGS*, which began on October 15. In this game, where up to 100 players are divided into three teams, there had reportedly been disparities in win rates among the teams.

The “Social Experiment” Conducted in Season 2

In this game, up to 100 players are divided into three teams to compete, but players had noted that only the Blue Team (Lonestar) had a notably low win rate.

To address this issue, the company implemented balance adjustments in Season 2, which began on October 15. As part of a Season 2-exclusive “social experiment,” they granted the Blue Team bonuses for funds and experience points and adjusted spawn locations for all teams.

Regarding these measures, while there were legitimate complaints about the visibility of the Blue Team’s uniforms and their spawn locations, the company explained that the primary factor behind the disparity was sentiment toward the Blue Team.

“We were wrong.”

With Season 2 now underway, the official X account announced on October 16 that the Blue Team’s cash and XP bonuses would be removed, driver progression would be adjusted, the issue of many players gaining premature access to tanks by exploiting a driver bug would be fixed, and that limited-mode servers would be implemented soon.

In a video posted alongside the announcement, the developers stated, “We were wrong,” acknowledging that these measures had allowed some players to earn more than intended.

*WARDOGS* is currently available in Early Access for Windows (Steam). Versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are scheduled for release in 2028.
